Last week was a busy but exciting week at Hilburn. Our students contributed 2,400 cans to our Wake Relief Food Drive; purchased books from the Bedford Book Fair; dined with their fathers; enjoyed a performance by Transit, an acapella group; and celebrated their food drive successes with Kona Ice. Thank you to our Student Government and PTA for organizing all of these events!
It’s hard to believe we have just seven school days remaining before the winter vacation. Please help us keep students focused on their schoolwork as much as possible. Interims did go home last week, so please make sure you have seen interims and are aware of the progress your student(s) is making. Do reach out to teachers with specific questions if you have them and be aware there are just three weeks remaining in the second quarter when students return. Every day counts.
Carpool: We continue to have parents who are getting out of the car during arrival. Please do not get out of your car in the carpool circle during arrival. It delays other students’ arrival to school.
Prospective Student Open House: We will host an open house for prospective elementary and middle-school students on Wednesday, January 11th, from 5:30 to 7:00. Fifth-Grade Families, we invite you to join us to check out our middle-school core programming, elective offerings, clubs and teachers.
Student Assignment: We will distribute assignment strips for the 2017-2018 school year to students on Wednesday, January 5th. If you have questions about your student’s assignment, you can contact Student Assignment at StudentAssignment@wcpss.net or me at email@example.com.
