Students enjoyed experiencing virtual reality with Google Expeditions Pioneer Program last week, traveling to Antarctica, the Galapagos Islands, the moon and many other locations. Career Week is coming next! Be looking for more information about exactly what our students are doing.
Our Student Government food drive was a huge success. Students donated 3,444 cans, and our top donator was second grader Daniel Reynolds, who donated 127 cans. Thank you to everyone who participated.
We secured more business partners for the 2016-2017 school year. NC State’s Department of Chemistry and Student Meteorological Society are joining our team as is Sonorous Road Productions. We look forward to strengthening our program with these partnerships.
Fifth-Grade Parents, your students will soon be registering for their sixth-grade classes. The course registration process will be completed entirely through PowerSchool. Students will have numerous elective options and will select Math 6 or Math 6 Plus. In the 2016-2017 school year, all sixth-grade math classes will be heterogeneously grouped, meaning Math 6 and Math 6 Plus students will be grouped together across classes. We will share more information at our April 8 parent session. [date corrected]
Please join us this Thursday, March 17, for a musical performance by our second and third graders and remember to register your student with the Get Movin’ Crew if you haven’t. We are well on our way to creating 3D learning and printing space for all students, but we need everyone’s help! [date corrected]
Have a great week.
